Garry has an excellent career with several clubs, his best time probably at Hull, and he was one of the most consistent UK riders. He was injured at Somerset in 2007
A word from Garry:
"I started watching speedway in 1979, watching as a kid with my mum and dad at Halifax and sometimes Sheffield. I first rode a mini-bike, then did second halves at Middlesbrough and Brandford Monday night training before riding in the PJ DIxon Heathers, the Cradley BL2 team. When they said I wasn`t ready to ride for them at Reading, my dad got upset and we went to Stoke where i got into the team by the end of 1990. I stayed there till they closed in 1992, then rode for Newcastle, Bradford (Where we won the league in 1997), Sheffield, Wolverhampton and then Hull where I rode for seven years, which were the best of my Career.
Then I went to Workingham, and back to Stoke for 2007 - a lot of people say never go back, but I like the place and got on with Dave Tattum. There were other teams who wanted me but I ended up going to Stoke.
