Bumper Shared Event Collections
Monday 3rd August 2015
by Rob Peasley
Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund secretary and treasurer Paul Ackroyd would like to thank everyone who has given to the collections held at the last two BSPA shared events.
The collection at Somerset for the Premier League Pairs raised £970, while a mammoth collection at Peterborough for the Premier League Fours raised a staggering £1763.

Ackroyd said: "Both are record collections for the respective events. The fours collection at Peterborough is always a good one, because the riders from the four teams eliminated in the semi-finals go around to collect in the interval, but this year, it was better than ever. My thanks go to the riders who helped out, our regular collectors, plus everyone who donated.

"We've already had some stunning collections this season, with Berwick raising a brilliant £2125 from their collection. We're now in 'Ben Fun Month', in which the majority of tracks will be holding their collections, and once more, we're so grateful to those who give towards to what is such a worthy cause. Anyone who is unable to contribute to the track collections, can donate via PayPal by going through the website at www.srbf.co.uk simply by clicking on the 'Make A Donation' tab.

"Sadly, later in the day at Peterborough after we'd completed our collection, Lewis Kerr suffered a very serious injury, and on behalf of the SRBF, I wish to pass on our best wishes to Lewis and his family."
