Steve Worrall has always been a big supporter of the Benevolent Fund with five previous appearances in the Bonanza, including a second place at Scunthorpe in 2020, so he was quick to sign up for this year's 75th Anniversary event (King's Lynn, 25th March at 5pm).

He said "Much as we try to avoid serious injury, sometimes it can't be avoided, and I've had my fair share of support from the Fund in the past, so it's only fair that we give something back and I'm very happy to be in the meeting.

"It's nice to get out early in the season as well in a meeting that's not too serious. I'd love to go one better than 2020 and win the meeting but it's not really about winning. I think the majority of us just want to help the SRBF and if I can attract a few extra fans by being in the meeting then I am very happy to do that.

"I'm pleased to say I have had a couple of relatively injury-free seasons now though sometimes it can be the small crashes that cause problems, like the one that pulled my back last year."

Steve is one of the lucky ones this year as he returns to the same two clubs he raced for in 2022. He said "I've never been one for jumping clubs too often. At Poole obviously we have won pretty much everything including back-to-back Championships, so it was a no-brainer that I would want to be back there, especially with my Testimonial coming up on 29th March.

"Being back at Wolves is also what I wanted, last year was my first one there and it always takes a while to settle in around new people, being back with the same clubs allows me to hit the ground running."

Supporters planning to attend the meeting will not be able to buy tickets in advance for the Bonanza, all admissions will be dealt with on the day. Payment at the turnstiles can be by credit / debit card or cash.
