Carl to be the Ben Fund's guest

Former Mildenhall rider Carl Baldwin will be the guest of the Speedway Riders' Benevolent Fund on Saturday when they stage their Bonanza at King's Lynn (5pm start, 3:30 gates open).
Carl was a true stalwart of the Fen Tigers in their glory days 40 year ago, with more than 260 appearances for the club. He had the great misfortune to suffer a stroke in 2018 during an operation, but in true speedway style he is fighting back and the Ben Fund has been able to assist.
He said "I'm looking forward to Saturday, I just hope it's warm and sunny. I haven't been to speedway at all yet this year but I went to Ipswich last year a couple of times."
The Ben Fund were able to step in when alerted to Car's situation last year – they cover the costs of his ongoing care.
Carl added "I'm improving quite a lot, I'm doing all right. The Ben Fund have been brilliant, they've been really good to me. Helped me a lot, I can't thank them enough."
