CHRIS Morton, John Curtis and Derek Richardson are well into their pre-planning for their monumental cycle ride from Wales to Wroclaw. And as part of their preparations there's now a platform for fans, family and friends to contribute towards their target of raising £15,000 for the Speedway Riders' Benevolent Fund.
All three have made their contributions to the Ben Fund in the past – ex-Conference League rider Curtis, experienced Richardson and England great Mort have all undergone similar charity efforts in the past.
John walked, solo, from Ipswich's Foxhall Heath to arrive at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff in time for the 2022 British Grand Prix.
And Derek joined former world pairs champion and ex-World Finalist Mort as he pedalled from Manchester's National Speedway Stadium to the Welsh capital last year.
But their current project sees both those efforts pale into relative insignificance (not that any fund-raising effort can ever be described as insignificant) compared to cycling all the way from Wales to Poland.
It's expected to take the 14 days that separate this year's British GP on Saturday, August 17, and the following round at Wroclaw's Olympic Stadium on August 31.
Donations have already started rolling in even though the page was only set up at the weekend.
You can find it at www.gofundme.com, search for Wales to Wroclaw. Ben Fund Mission.
One of the first to donate was who wrote on the page: "As a speedway supporter I want to help riders in need with the Ben Fund. Good luck. Chris."
