Hot favourite and Speedway of Nations Champion Dan Bewley added the Ben Fund Bonanza to his list of achievements, winning every race in style on his first competitive appearance around his local circuit. It was the fourteenth staging of the Bonanza which was first held in 2009, and it must surely have been just about the most entertaining one to date.

The Workington circuit provided both inside and outside line overtaking in a series of tremendous races, thrilling the spectators and also the Worldwide audience on the British Speedway Network live stream. All of the riders played their part.

The finishing order in the final saw Jan Kvech, Antti Vuolas and Danny King follow Bewley home in that order. The event was wrapped up in 2.5 hours, which is good going for 27 races (including Women's and Youth heats).

Some of the highlights:

Heat 4: Jan Kvech announces his presence with a great cutback off the second bend to pass Danny King. What a great introduction to British Speedway Kvech has made.

Heat 6: An exciting battle for most of the race between Bewley and King, the closest Bewley was challenged all afternoon.

Heat 7: Great show from Slater Lightcap. He led the heat from Charles Wright only for the race to be stopped when Connor Bailey fell. He led again in the rerun though Wright came through eventually.

Heat 10: Bewley a great run through from third (off gate 4) to pass both Vuolas and Ellis.

Heat 13: Danny King came from the back around the outside to pass Ellis and Wright, and Sedgmen also passed them on the inside line!

Heat 15: Kvech again high wide and handsome to round up the field.

Heat 16: Gino Manzares rode well all day and he got his reward here coming from the back to win on the inside of Blodorn.

Heat 20: King led but went too wide and let Vuolas come though. That meant both of them made the final, edging out Sedgmen.

£1,000 was raised for the re-donated Team GB suit of Dan Bewley, the sponsored head shave was completed by Norick Blodorn and a great time was had by all.
