Clive Hitch was one of the best known and most popular club men of the 1960s and 70s, a legend riding for Middlesbrough for four seasons as well as Rayleigh, Halifax, Long Eaton, Swindon, Coventry and others. Clive is now 91.

Clive's son Martin was also a rider for a short spell and at the recent Championship Individual event at Redcar Martin raised £600 by auctioning one of Clive's former Middlesbrough race jackets from 1963. The bid came from memorabilia collector Craig Milner

In addition Dot Laird sold copies of Barry Briggs book Wembley and Beyond and also auctioned a race jacket signed by Ronnie Moore, Ivan Mauger and Barry Briggs which also raised a further £400.

A terrific effort by Dot, Martin and all concerned.
