On 7 May, Dan Gilkes suffered a knee ligament injury in a crash at Poole while representing Oxford. The Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund have approached Gilkes, helping him cover costs as he began his treatment.

Gilkes said: "The Ben Fund is a fantastic part of our sport. They've been there for me and so many other riders in the past, always ready to help when we need it. Knowing they're there for us really means a lot."
