Such a lot of work goes in to the staging of the Ben Fund Bonanza that it is a great relief as well as a pleasure to the organisers when it is successfully concluded each year. That was certainly the case in 2026 as SRBF Chairman Paul Ackroyd was happy to agree.
"We got away lightly with the weather!" was his first comment. "I was getting a little anxious as the morning went on."
He added "A massive thank you to Glasgow Speedway, Gerry and Peter Facenna for their generosity in every way to help make the meeting successful financially. Also Andy Meredith and his team for the work done on the track to ensure that we got the meeting on. It certainly produced some half decent racing as the meeting went on.
"Thanks also to Kerry Smith who is the Operations Manager there, she is absolutely awesome! Everything we wanted she did. She and her team, everyone played their part. With Alan Dick as well of course, they all did us proud.
"The riders played their part, they got stuck in. It's a refreshing change to have some different names on the rostrum and I'm sure Edinburgh fans will be very happy with the success of their new rider. Glasgow will also be happy how Kevin Juhl Pedersen went, what a start to his British career.
"The presentation and everything went well so I have no real hangups! The Bonanza has reinforced that Glasgow are very capable of staging big meetings with their organisation."
